HPM contains a powerful management tool called Encounter Based Budgeting (EBB). It is actually a powerful activity, cost and revenue modeling tool. EBB's model is defined by choosing dimensions and the population to include. Dimensions are handles on the data you will later use to select the changes you want. Behind the scenes, the model is retaining payor, revenue, service item and department level cost. The EBB provides menus to allow you to manage your model datasets and make successive iterative assumption changes. EBB then provides before and after variance reporting to understand the activity, cost and revenue variances. Typical uses for EBB:
Have you ever felt that you just can't get control over your variances, that the promises made to deliver incremental volume are not monitored, that the final outcome was not understood? EBB provides the clarity your organization needs. Yardley can assist with EB set up education and operation. |
