Over the last few years we have created several programs to solve specific data problems for our clients, problems that are common for people maintaining data warehousing, decision support, performance management and business intelligence solutions. These programs are available for license. Collectively, we refer to them as the "Yardley Utilities." All run from a command line with a parameter string, so they are perfect for operating as scheduled batch files or from a shortcut, suitable for one-time or ongoing data transformation. The Yardley Utilities solve problems in patient data files that are too costly or painful to solve in other ways, by allowing selective transformation of the data. Typical application: you have already extracted history from patient accounting archives, but now you want to convert some of the data, perhaps changing department or UB/HCPCS mappings for charge codes.
Yardley Mass Merge ™
Yardley Mass Merge allows you to selectively merge two files into one in precisely the right order. An example application would be creating an input file to attach additional service item detail to patient records, perhaps adding more detailed surgical supplies for use in cost accounting. Parameters let you indicate which record type and field identifies the patient record, and which following records are where insertion should take place. Yardley HCPCS Recoder™
Yardley HCPCS Recoder is intended for those migrating patient data from TRENDSTAR to HPM. The program references each patient's financial class and service item dates, and ensures that the correct HCPCS code is attached to the service item record. Yardley Recoder/FL™
The Yardley Recoder/FL is a utility program that allows you to operate on very large fixed-record length files like TRENDSTAR database input tables, manipulating their content on a mass scale by substituting values. Typical applications include conversion of chart of accounts data or conversion of charge description codes from old values to new values. You supply the input table, substitution table and other parameters like record identifiers. You receive a copy of your table containing the changes, with the original left unchanged for comparison. The Recoder can be run from a command line containing the parameters, so it is well suited to fit into monthly batch update processes, and also supports multiple passes on the same file to address different record types. The Yardley Recoder/VL allows you to transform delimited files, like HPM input files, in the same way as Yardley Recoder/FL works on fixed length files. Parameters let you choose the record types and fields to change. Yardley Repricer™
Have you ever wanted to test the effect of a price change? Are you revising prices but want to see what it would have done to net revenue for the last 12 months? Yardley Repricer operates on an input file and a price change file, creating a copy of your patient data with new prices, so you can run CPA or PCON rules and precisely test the impact. The program will work on TRENDSTAR or HPM input files. Yardley DBI Parser™
Every McKesson patient accounting solution creates output files for TRENDSTAR, basically a detailed dump of your patient data. There are times when these data would be useful in other programs, but the format needs conversion to be useful, and maybe you just need some of the records. DBI Parser copies out the record types you select into individual files and converts the overpunch characters to numbers you can use in database and spreadsheet applications.
